Discretionary Global Macro

Hypothesis Macrofund

Strategy

Hypothesis Macrofund's principal investment objective is to achieve superior capital appreciation through investments in a global macro portfolio of U.S. and non-U.S. securities and other instruments. These include global equity related securities, currencies, corporate and government bonds and other fixed income instruments, swaps, equities and over the counter options on all the foregoing.

Unlike most conventional managed portfolios, the strategy generally takes long or short positions on global stock indices rather than positions in individual equities. Stock indices are intended to capture broad equity movements without the idiosyncratic risks of individual equities. The strategy uses currencies, bonds and other fixed income instruments to attempt to capture significant macro market movements.

The original fund was launched in 1997 and was ranked number one in the world by Republic Bank of Geneva in 1998. Our founder Andrew Nissenbaum orchestrated a relaunch in 2026.
